The New, Fresh Sound of Bass
Darrell Freeman can be called one of those special freaks of nature, being highly skilled as a bassist, pianist, drummmer, guitarist, producer, and songwriter. But he refers to himself as just a musician. Anyone can see that even though he is a fairly new face on the touring and recording scene, his playing speaks for itself. Already with 3 Grammy awards to his credit, his resume list includes work with major artists such as Queen Latifah, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, and Alex Bugnon to name a few.
According to Freeman, "I'm just blessed to have something to add to the vast world of music." And that he does. Freeman has concocted his own style of playing which extends relevantly across the genres of Gospel, Pop, R&b and Jazz.
While touring with Queen Latifah and Donnie McClurkin, Freeman's rig consists of a WT800 and 2 D410XLs. "Eden gives me the bottom and the edge that I need to cut through on any stage, while still maintaining a consistent warmth. E in my book is for Eden and Excellence."
You can be sure that the name Darrell Freeman will be seen much more in the future as he is gearing up for more tours and recordings. Also be on the lookout for his solo release coming soon. |
