Nashville Blues and Then Some

Nashville bassist Abe White has toured, performed or recorded with numerous notable artists, such as Larry Carlton (Bluebird), Hal Ketchum (Curb Records), Amanda Williams (Play it by Ear Records), Keith Anderson (Arista Records), Acoustic Alchemy (GRP), The Neville Brothers (Neville Nation Records), David Ball (Dualtone), Big House (MCA), Johnny Sansone (Rounder Records), Zak Wylde (V2Records) and many more.

In addition Abe has appeared on recordings with many top artists, including Pat Travers, John Wetton (Asia, King Crinsom), Tony Franklin (The Firm), Rick Wakeman (Yes), Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers), Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), Keith Emerson (ELP), Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy), Steve Lukather, Rick Derringer, Albert Lee, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Geoff Downes (Asia, Yes) Alan White (Yes), and many others. However, Abe's main focus is one of the most electrifying bands today, Cold Truth.

After Abe had formal training with Lamont Johnson in Detroit, and Ray Peterson in Ft Lauderdale/Miami, he moved to Nashville, quickly becoming one of the most sought after bassists on the Nashville Blues and Rock scenes. His playing has been described by critics as Stinging, Wicked and Down Right Rude.

One of the brightest highlights of his career, however, is Abe's work with Cold Truth. Their first, self-titled CD gained the band a strong following in the US and Europe. Critics raved over their killer grooves, outstanding songwriting, and Bluesy Rock feel. The critically acclaimed debut landed at number 3 of the top 5 rock albums in Germany, in 2004. Many European music critics named them the premiere new Rock Band out of the United States.

Their second CD, released in the beginning of 2009, takes the band to a much higher level. Already, critics on both continents are hailing the disc as "brilliant" and "awesome," writing that "everything on the release is one step ahead of what you would normally expect." One reviewer enthused, the disc is "guaranteed to make you believe in the healing powers of Rock and Roll once again."

Abe uses our WT800 powering D410XLT, D210XLT and D210XST cabinets. On using Eden, he says he's "very demanding when it comes to my tone. My style of playing calls for a sound that is crisp with growling mids and a massive, tight low end. My Eden rig gives me that sound every time I plug in. Eden is just by far a superior amp."
