Born in izmir,Turkey, he graduated from 9 Eylül University, Business Administration major in 1997, Bilgi University Jazz Composition major in 2003.In 1998, formed Turkey’s primary R&B and soul band KANGROOVE with Bora Uzer and Mert Önal.Can Çankaya joined the band in 1999.His main bands are KANGROOVE, QUARTET MUARTET, WAX POETIC/ISTANBUL SESSIONS and TELVIN..He is also the bass player of the Turkish pop star,TARKAN. His list of live performances include names like Tarkan, Quartet Muartet, Wax Poetic Istanbul, Telvin/Erkan Ogur, Lost Songs Of Anatolia, Erik Truffaz, Ercüment Vural&Önder Focan Project, Clark Gayton (Sting), Karina Zeviani (voice of Thievery Coperation), Akin Eldes, Cahit Berkay Motion Picture Project, Emin Findikoglu, Buzuki Orhan Osman, Nil Karaibrahimgil, Sertab Erener, Timur Selçuk, Donovan Mixon, Jazzistance, Melis Sökmen.
