Calvin Barnes - The Gospel of Bass
Keeping busy is an understatement for Calvin Barnes, a new professional bassist out of Nashville, TN. In 2007, he began playing full-time with EMI/Sparrow artist Britt Nicole, whose record sales were among the Top 10 Christian records of 2007; playing to crowds of up to 100,000 people from coast to coast and sharing the stage with the biggest names in Christian Music. In additon, each week Calvin plays live on air for over 1 million people on the largest Christian Radio network in the country.
In between shows, Calvin does session work for many independent artists. In late 2007, he was picked up by worship artist Chris Nesbitt and made an appearance on a nationally aired Christian television show, and was recently asked to do an entire show. Chris has been featured in many of the top Christian music magazines and has received great reviews for his debut project, Liquid Worship. Recently, Calvin began playing shows with INO/Columbia recording artists 33 Miles, who bring a great modern country sound (al a Rascal Flats) to audiences all over the country.
Calvin uses our VT300 and D610XLT for a massive old-school tone. "Everywhere I go, I get complimented on my tone. Guys that have never considered playing Eden are wishing their rigs could produce the great tone I get out of my Eden," said Calvin." "My Eden helps me cut through the mix and hold down the bottom end with authority. My tone is so great, it has given me more confidence, which in turn, has made me a better player." |
