Cicero Lee was born in Portugal, 1982. His first teacher is his father, who was a former student of Portuguese composer Fernando Lopes Graça and played the most important role for him to become a musician. Later he studies at Interartes Music School, Portugal, and at The Bass Collective, New York City, where he had the chance to study with bassists Jeff Andrews, Lincoln Goines and saxophonist Joe Lovano.
His career as a professional bass player started in 1999, when he started playing with is father and with many mainstream jazz groups. Since then he has played in various festivals, stages and concert halls throughout the world with artists such as Marta Plantier, Antonio TC Cruz, Victor Zamora, Carlos Alberto Moniz, José Mario Branco, Julio Resende, Sergio Godinho, Martinho da Vila, Paula Santoro or Grammy Award Winner Reverend Milton Biggham.
Currently dividing his time between concerts, leading workshops and teaching, he is touring with recording artist Luis Represas. |
