Youthful Wisdom
Evan Marien was born July 18th, 1986 in Illinois. A musician since early childhood, he grew up studying with Jim Culbertson, smooth jazz star Brian Culbertson's father and bandmate, for 12 years. He currently attends Berklee College of Music majoring in Jazz Composition, where he has studied with Matthew Garrison, Bruce Gertz, Janek Gwizdala and Steve Jenkins.
Three years ago, Evan became one of the youngest Eden Artists ever, at the age of 18. During his budding career, he has either played, performed, recorded, or studied with a long list of Jazz greats, including Joesph Wooten, David Fiuczynski, Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Greg Osby, Jeff Taylor, Rob Hecht, and many others. Yet, somehow, he's managed to tour the US and Europe, both as sideman and bandleader. Now 21, he's already released a pair of solo records on his own label (Evan Marien Productions) as well as a project with the Evan Marien Group. His latest project is scheduled for release in 2008 and will feature Joseph Wooten, Simon Yu, Jeff Villanueva, Randy Runyon, Manami Morita, Bob Edinger, and many others.
For his main rig, Evan uses our WT800 with D410XLT and D210XLT cabinets. He also has a Nemesis N8 for personal practice. Of his rig, he says, "I use Eden because of the amazing tone it gives me. I'm a huge tone nerd and Eden gives me the sound I hear in my head." |
