John is an accomplished, self-taught bassist who has played with some of musics brightest. John began playing bass while in 7th grade and continued on his musical path by attending and graduating from Abilene Christian University with a Music Business degree. Following college John moved to Austin, TX to explore the emerging music scene. About five years later, John was ready to make his next move. After a conversation with Steve Mandile, whom he'd met in Abilene during college, he moved to Nashville and become the bass player for Lee Greenwood. His first professional touring gig was with Greenwood, but John has been a band member for many other musical acts including Randy Travis, Chely Wright, Phil Vassar and most recently Faith Hill. John was part of Faiths highly successful Soul2Soul Tour in 2000 which was the #1 Country Tour of the Year. As a part of that tour and his touring past, John has played every major arena and stadium in the US as well as Canada.

Working with some of musics biggest acts has given John the opportunity to perform in front of a multitude of television audiences such as: the Grammys, Billboard Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, VH-1 Divas, VH-1 Behind the Music, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Rosie ODonnell Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, The View, ABCs Millennium Special and a CBS Thanksgiving Special "Faith."

During breaks from the road, John keeps busy by writing songs and doing recording sessions for many music publishing companies and songwriters in Nashville. Some of those sessions John has played on helped launch the careers of artists such as Phil Vassar and Carolyn Dawn Johnson. During these breaks John also began to work on a band project with some close friends, including Mandile, and this collaboration came to be known as Sixwire. The end of 2001 brought the band their first major label recording contract with Warner Brothers and their debut release in the summer of 2002.

On a personal note, John enjoys working out and running a few miles daily. He and his wife Juliann currently reside in Nashville with their two long haired chihuahua's Maya and Juanita.
