Recommend a good flange/chorus/phaser
I want to replace all my modulation effects with one high quality unit. I have a boss flanger, EHX small stone phaser, and an EHX the worm(tremelo phaser) I just want one effect to take over for all the soupy modulation effect parts of tunes. Something warm rich lucious and analog, also true bypass wouldn't hurt. Any suggestions?

2nd on the TC unit.

I've modded some stomp boxes (mainly distortion pedals) in the past, so those various sources (including analogman) might be fun if you want to get your hands dirty. indyguitarist.com is another source. But that TC SCF is perfect out of the box.

he has good deals on pedals too. you can send him an e-mail and tell him what you want and he will give you his oponions on what is good.
or you can get a processor that is almost good at 1000 effects.

a 4th for the tc electronic...doesn´t do phasing though...i also have a boss ce-2b bass chorus, which produces really authentic 80ies sounds...and soon i´m gonna build myself a ce-2 clone
BUT thinking about replacing all your units with one quality one, don´t forget you won´t be able to use them all in the same set or even song, you can´t fiddle with the controls during songs imho...so with my tc, i use the chorus setting mainly, although the pitch modulation setting is really cool and useful (think about the fretless bassline in kate bush´s "night of the swallow")

cheers,

I don't necessarily want all those sounds in one box and then will change different effect modes. I was looking for something new and different that sort of takes the place of all those effects a new magic pedal.

I don't know what to get!

You could wait for the forthcoming Flanger Hoax from Electro-Harmonix...

LINK

Very little info available other than this picture. Apparently it was shown but not demoed at Summer NAMM, and not much was said about it.

Yeah no I'm after a decent chorus effect myself, and I was having a gander at that one by T.C. Electronic. I notice it's got a BYPASS output jack as well as mono and stereo OUTPUT jacks. Being a bit of a pedal noob, I'm sure what the bypass jack would be for, and how this pedal would fit into my signal chain. Is there an SCF user who could enlighten me?

Cheers

Bypass means you can throw the pedal in your rack and run a footswitch out to the playing position.

If you get a chance take a listen to the Rocktron Blue Thunder. The preamp is definately not my thing but the effects are the most versitile I've found in a single rack unit. This is the only design I've used where you can set a low end filter to keep the Chorus/Flange/Phaser/Trem from muddying up the bottom. It took a lot of work but I got what I wanted out of the modulation section. A nice midi pedal will allow you to punch up any patch when you want it. Best of Luck!

Identity theft is a biscuit aint it Lane Rocktron put this out third quarter 2004. I gobbled one up direct from them and HATED it at first. Once I read the Novel (aka manual) I tweeked on it and was pleased. OOOPs on the D*I*G*I*T*A*L but it isn't a cold sterile fish, take a listen for yourself. ps Lane, if Eden would use an effects blend pot I would do cartwheels.
