Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some but, for me, it was a blast. Once again, I got to sit in with Bluzilla, a hot Chicago blues band led by Paul Buschbacher, one of Eden's inside sales reps. Even better, several USM employees came out to enjoy the show. And to top it off, my friend Anthony La Guardia came up with me and sat in on drums. Paul played for several years with Li'l Ed and the Blues Imperials. Since then, Paul has been leading Bluzilla in and around Chicago. The drum throne is filled by none other than Paul's dad, Steve. The bass slot is filled by Motown great Bernard Reed. When Bernard is called away for other commitments, I do my best to fill those mighty big shoes. Some readers may remember that Tony was living in the New Orleans area when Katrina hit. He and friend Dale Galatis came to Danville to wait out the storm. While there, we put together Stranded as a three-piece band that pulled in nine gigs in eight days, playing mostly for tips to help finance the pair's trip back home. Tony recently relocated to Danville to be in the same town as his sweetheart. Below are some pictures Paul's wife Teresa took during the evening. Unfortunately, we took the group photo very late, so it doesn't include all of the USM folks that attended the show. Next time, we'll remember to pull out the camera sooner.
