The NAMM Show and What it Can Do for You - by Steve Cook

Thursday, January 19- The Fun Begins

Opening Day of the show. Yippee. Now we get to see what works and what doesn't. And pray that our day-late-and-a-dollar-short shipment gets here today. Which it did, by the way; but in the morning, I was sweating it.

I found out early that the Volume Police would be out in full riot gear. I got shut down less than an hour into the show. Now, to be fair, I was showing an interested party just how loud a WT1205/D610XLT rig could go. Heh! I quickly learned that fifteen seconds was the outside limit before they narrowed their search enough to figure out it was me. I also worked on my Angelic Innocence face. That one needs more work.

Anyhoo...here's some shots from Day One. Am already looking forward to Day Last but I am having fun in spite of myself. It's been great to put faces with the voices I talk to over the phone...

"Gerald says, 'great to meet you...let me hear you play so I can check out that 1205.'
And I'm, like, uhb uh hammanahammana..."
