The NAMM Show and What it Can Do for You - by Steve Cook

I've been back from the show for two days now, and am still recuperating. Unfortunately, I picked up some sort of bug on the way home. So it's going to be a few days before I'm back up to speed. The good news, however, is that I didn't get sick during the show. It was hard enough working twenty-hour days without being sick on top of it.

In many ways, this is the most successful NAMM show US Music has had in many years. The attitude in the booth was very upbeat and positive, and I think the dealers sensed this. The booth itself looked great and created a smooth flow of traffic. The best thing is that everyone worked together as a team. It didn't matter what division they worked for, everyone pitched in wherever needed.

For Eden, the Buzz Factor reached new levels. Bill Clements had everyone talking and numerous luminaries stopped by to pay their respects. In addition, all of the endorsers that stopped in were very well received. I had a great time getting "face time" (as Steve Cook called it) with several endorsers with whom I'd traded emails. To a man, they were a lot of fun to hang with, and very humble when talking to visitors.

One thing I forgot to mention in Saturday's write-up was the video we shot for zZounds. They were kind enough to have me give a presentation on the entire Nemesis/Eden lineup, from the new N8 practice amp, all the way up to the WT1205. I just checked the site and it's not up yet, but we'll be sure to let you know when it is.

Eden is filmed by a crew from zZounds.

I also had a great time meeting Edenites and dealers. Again, it was great to finally meet folks face to face. I'd like to thank those of you who showed up when I was up to my neck in stuff to do, and waited patiently. It really meant a lot to me that you were so understanding.

The new products were very well received. Dealers really liked the new N8 practice amp, seeing it as a way to introduce Eden to a new group of customers. The RS series was of special interest to Rock players who liked the addition of the Edge control and the footswitch. The Rocco cabinet (D810RP) got a lot of playing time and a lot of interest. And everyone wanted to know when the head would be available.

I want to thank everyone who sent emails regarding the daily reports. It's really great to know that everyone appreciated them so much. And, yes, I think we'll continue to do them at future shows.

So...a huge amount of work, but well worth it. I'm really looking forward to the summer show in Austin, TX. I hope we'll see you then.
