As part of our support of Belmont's Music Department, and especially their Bass Chair, our very own long-term endorser Roy Vogt, Eden and Randall will sponsor a Music Business Seminar offered by Deeper Blues. Lane Baldwin (our Special Projects Coordinator) and Gary Jones (representing Randall), along with drummer James Jones will present Beyond Chops: Building a Professional Music Career. In addition to performing songs from their recently released CD, Dig the Hole, the band will offer insights into the business skills required to succeed in the music business.

In addition to holding down the bottom for Crash the Machine, endorser Craig Murray also oversees Rio Linda High School's "Rock Music" program, which includes live bands and digital composition. This year, he will offer the first annual MusicFest '08, a state-wide music competition at the high school level. As part of its sponsorship of the event, US Music Corp. is providing prize packages (amps, of course) for the top three live bands. In addition, Deeper Blues -- featuring Eden Special Projects Coordinator Lane Baldwin, Randall endorser Gary Jones, and drummer James Jones -- will be on-hand to serve as judges of the event, offer individual clinics during the lunch break, and appear as featured guests for the evening awards concert. Other activities for the weekend include a Friday presentation on Music History (Blues: Its History, and Its Relevance Today) to RLHS students, an appearance at the Friday night concert to raise funds for their music department, and a Sunday appearance at Sacramento Foodstock, a benefit for local food pantries, based on the original Danville Foodstock produced by Deeper Blues. In-Store Clinics with Deeper Blues
Join Eden's Special Projects Coordinator Lane Baldwin and his band Deeper Blues, for an evening of fun, music and more, as they present information on Eden, Randall and Washburn products, and hand-out armloads of swag!
A long-term Eden endorser, Lane now serves as our Special Projects Coordinator and Artist Relations rep. He is also the bassist, vocalist and leader of Deeper Blues, an all-original Blues trio. Guitarist Gary Jones is a Randall and Washburn endorser with twenty-five years of touring and recording to his credit. The band's new CD, Dig the Hole, features thirteen cuts of the raw, emotionally charged Blues (everything from porch "shout-outs" to Power Blues), that legend Johnny B. Gayden calls "the best new Blues out there." Dave Hufstedler, Bass department manager for Alpha Music (VA Beach, VA) said of Lane's presentation, "Lane was awesome! Everyone was spell-bound with his performance ... our best [Bass Club] meeting so far. ... a total inspiration and very educational.". For more on Deeper Blues, see their web site and MySpace page.

Summer NAMM Pre-Show Kick-Off
US Music, Eden and Randall sponsor a pre-show event to kick off the Summer NAMM show. Doors open at 5 so you have time to meet and hang with numerous endorsers. Music starts at 7 and features performances by Manic Bloom, Doug Johns, Justin Conn Band, Roy Vogt & Sean O'Bryan Smith, and Deeper Blues. Join Special Projects Coordinator Lane Baldwin and Randall Product Specialist Vince Genella for an evening of Gear Heaven. Lane will present the Eden line of amps, while Vince, an amazing solo instrumental guitarist, shows off Randall rigs. Vince and Lane will be performing together for the first time and, as always, they'll have a bag o' swag for giveaways.
About Vince: With twenty years of recording, performing, teaching, and clinic presentations under his belt, Vince definitely has the skills to get the job done. His instrumental compositions are led by searing melodic technique and passionate, fiery leads through mature song-oriented hooks and progressions. Vince combines straightforward lead guitar with a showman's flair to create a dynamic on-stage presence. Currently he is working on his own full length Instrumental CD while maintaining a full teaching schedule, doing studio sessions for others, and holding guitar clinics for Randall MTS Series Amplifiers and Parker Guitars. Whether teaching, recording or performing Vince has a blast doing what he loves most."It's all about fun and the love of music. I'm grateful to be able to do what I love!" |

Eden Clinic Featuring Deeper Blues with Very Special Guest Sean O'Bryan Smith
Join endorser Lane Baldwin (aka: Lane on Bass), and his band Deeper Blues, for another evening of music and fun featuring very special guest Sean O'Bryan Smith as they present an overview of the Eden line, fields questions on gear, touring, technique, and more. Deeper Blues will perform selections from their recently released CD, Dig the Hole, and Sean will join the band for a two-bass ThunderFest. As always, Lane will have a full bag of goodies to give away, this time including swag from Sean and Deeper Blues: T-shirts, CDs, posters... maybe a donut or two.

About Sean: Bassist, Music Director, Producer, Writer, Bald Guy. Sean wears a lot of hats, and does so with aplumb. He's toured and recorded with a myriad of top artists, including Carmine Appice, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sarah Evans, and many, many more. In addition to his solo show, he is the bassist for the Justin Conn Band, and singer Anna Wilson. For several years, Sean has added his unique voice to the Eden site with Music Business Survival, a column devoted to helping others succeed as working pros.
