D210XST

For more than two decades, Eden has led the field in speaker system design and performance. Our D210XLT cabinet has long been the standard by which all 2x10 cabinets are judged. Now, the D210XST takes its place beside its XLT brother as another step forward in bass reproduction.

Eden D210XST Bass Speaker Cabinet.

First, let's look at the evolution of the David series speakers. In the beginning was the T series cabinets. The T stood for "Tweeter"; D210T meant "David series, two tens and a tweeter. Simple enough. While they were head and shoulders above everything else available at the time, David (Nordschow, Eden's founder) and his crew wanted to fatten the bottom end while preserving the mid-range authority. After much testing of driver and cabinet designs, a new design was born: the XLT - the XL standing for eXtended Lows.

For more than a decade, the XLT series has been the touring standard for bassists who demand the best tone and reliability. The deeper bottom end is great for 5-string players, and the characteristic low-mid growl helps the bassist cut through even the muddiest mix.

But some players wanted even more bottom. They also asked for a cabinet with less-aggressive mids. Guys who Slap a lot, or play synth bass. Guys who want maximum bottom, but still don't want to deal with large-diameter speakers. OK, back to the drawing board . . . uhm . . . sound lab.

After numerous prototype drivers and cabinets, mixed and matched until we were blue in the face, we introduced the XST series. The S stands for Smooth, by the way. Slightly smaller than the XLT cabinets, and with only a single row of ports (instead of two), these babies go deeper, sound smoother, and are more powerful. What's not to like?

The D210XST boasts some very impressive specs:

  • Freq. Response - 30Hz-14KHz
  • Power handling - 500W RMS, 1000 Peak
  • Sensitivity - 103dB (1W, 1M)
  • 23"w-18"h-18.5"d
  • 59 lbs.
  • Available in 4 or 8 Ohms

The XST cabinets use our EC-1060XS driver, mated with our E-2700 cast bell tweeter. The cabinets are computer-designed but hand tuned to give you tight, full bottom end, open and well-defined mids, and clear, sparkling highs.

By the way, the D210XST boasts all the features and benefits that make all David series cabinets the best they can be. Things like AA void-free plywood, dado and rabbet joints, speakers designed, engineered and built by Eden, to name just a few. If you already know all about this stuff, give yourself 10 Cool Points and keep reading. If not, you might want to check this out.

Make no mistake, this little powerhouse is ready to rock! Several users mate a single cabinet with either the WT405 or the WT550 for a compact, yet powerful, rig. Others use a pair of them, powered by a WT550, WT800B or WT1205, often stacking them on their sides for a vertical array of 4 tens. For its size, nothing comes close to the volume and outstanding bottom end to this rig. Still others pair one with a D212XLT for maximum bottom.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, they say. Well, the proof of the bass cabinet is in the playing. Here are a few comments from Edenites who use the D210XST on a regular basis:

The 210XST is a very rich sounding cab, very full and fat in sound.

{The WT]550 and 210XST is a killer combination.

The 210 has an unbelievable low-end.

The cab sounded great! During the sound check, I pulled up a deep heavy metal tone out of my PodXT Live and just shook the stage. I really do have a thunder rig!

The sound of those cabs is HUGE with my 1205! I highly recommend it.

My 210XST sounds amazing. I played tonight at my weekly praise & worship gig. [My bass] sounds humongous through this cab - the low B just sat so clear and tight in the mix - no mud. My wife was in the back of the room - she told me the bass was shaking everything. This is only a single 4ohm cab guys. I can't imagine adding another one… That would blow the walls down!

Just recently brought my first 210XST! I will now gladly pay for another anywhere I can find one!! Sound is huge!! Noised down the entire 1200 seat church theater a couple of weeks ago, and even the sound off of the video set-up was awesome!! Thanks Eden!!

I use a 550 & two 210xst 4 ohmers. Its unfreakin' believable.

I play in an electric blues band with two guitars & one drummer. The WT550 & two 210xst's keeps up just fine. As a matter of fact I'm often asked to turn down!

There's no downside to a pair of 210XST's!

I've always said the D212XLT/D210XST is the best sounding setup I ever played through.

My first impression was wow! how clear it is compared to the 4x10 [Brand "A"] cab.

Paired up with the WT550, the 210XST completely rumbles my house. Everything on the walls of my living rooms shake & rattle.

The D210XST is one of the most significant achievements in bass loudspeaker engineering, ever. My [bass] has never sounded better regardless of whether I'm playing an open low B or a double high C; and at any level of attack. The sound is luscious in every respect.

Low frequency eloquence, in the form of an engineering breakthrough.

The low end coming from this 2x10 is amazing, without being muddy. I use it for playing bass and synthesizers in a symphonic rock band, and it sounds like a dream!

This is definitely the tone I've been searching for.

I am a pretty simple person and get straight to the point:
