This year, Eden introduced the Nemesis Silver Series line of bass combo amplifiers. This new line of budget-priced amps addressed the needs of younger players who wanted great tone but were on a budget, as well as teachers who need a great amp for their rehearsal studios. Don't let the term "budget-priced" fool you. These amps still pack an impressive list of features. Channel one features its own Input Gain and Tone controls and can be used for a second instrument, or to plug in a stereo external device, such as a CD or tape player so the student can play along with recordings. The second (main) channel sports our proprietary Enhance control, Compressor (with defeat switch), Input Gain pad, and three band EQ. In addition, we added an Effects Loop and a recording quality D.I. with level control and ground lift. The N12S uses an Eden-designed 12" speaker and bullet tweeter to provide amazing warmth and tonal clarity. From the full low-end to sparkling highs, this amp is capable of providing exceptional tonal quality. It's powered by an amp capable of putting out 120 Watts into the internal speaker, or 170 Watts when adding an extension speaker. That's plenty of power for students and teachers, and can handle smaller gigs for those on a budget. |
When we designed these amps, we had no idea that professional and semipro players would take them out on stage. However, thanks to the features - and, more importantly, the great tone - lots of folks are doing just that. Turns out they're great for low- to medium-volume gigs.

When we began the new "Eden in the Schools" program to provide bass amps for Middle and High Schools, this is the amp we chose to donate. Our first recipient was North Ridge Middle School in central Illinois. Director Tom Harrigan was astounded by the tone:

How well did they work? The gain and EQ sections were responsive and, most importantly, faithfully reproduced the different sounds of two different basses. The cabinets were musical, and free of buzzing. I was impressed that the entry level Silver Series is ready for real world, practical use.
