Atom Ant. Mighty Mouse. BamBam. Sometimes, smaller is better. So it is with our new WTX-260 subcompact bass amplifier. This small, incredibly light (only 3.8 lbs!) unit includes all the features Eden users have come to know and love, while introducing groundbreaking technology to make your life easier. We designed the WTX-260 for players who need the ultimate in portability without sacrificing features and tone as some other units do. Slip the head into the pocket of your gig bag along with power, speaker and instrument cords, choose your cabinet (or two) and you're on your way. Even with two smaller cabinets (such as our D112XLT) you'll enjoy a single-trip load-in at your next gig or rehearsal.
Thanks to the WTX-260's groundbreaking technology, it doesn't matter where in the world your next gig is. Simply select the appropriate power cord for the country in which you happen to find yourself. Plug the cord into your WTX and the wall, and hit the ON Switch. Your amplifier will automatically set itself up for operation using local power, whatever it is! No jumpers to move; no fuses to change. It just doesn't get any easier than that. When it comes to features, we didn't skimp at all. Based on our Time Traveler series, the WTX-260 uses the Golden Ear chip for unsurpassed solid state warmth and musicality. This is the same chip used in ultra-high-end recording consoles (such as the Neve and Harris units that are so coveted today), and is more expensive than the chips typically used by most manufacturers. And did we mention how musical it is? That's just the beginning, however. The WTX-260 also includes the features players expect in a top-notch amplifier: Eden's proprietary Enhance control - add just a touch to boost the low end and trim a touch of mids while keeping the highs crisp and detailed. 3-band EQ (with Mid Shift) - Choose 550Hz to give your fretless a more vocal quality. Or switch to 2.2KHz to add some edge to an aggressive tone, or to smooth out a deep R&B sound. Dynamic Bass Boost - Modeled on the Fletcher-Munson curve, this ingenious little circuit brings the bottom end to life in low-volume situations. As you increase volume, the effect is reduce to offer a much broader range of usefulness. Switchable Automatic Compression - Once you've set your Input Gain, engage the compressor to tame the highest, loudest peaks in your signal. Or, increase the Input Gain to get a more compressed sound. Studio-quality DI with Ground Lift and Pre-/Post-EQ select - Forget the cheap DI boxes you so often see on live stages and small studios. Eden's DI is quite and clean, sending all of your tone to the board. Use the Ground Lift to get rid of the annoying hum of ground loops. And use the Pre-/Post-EQ selector to send the signal that works best for your current application. Rounding out the pre-amplifier's features are a -12dB Input Pad (for use with active and other high output basses), a Mute switch for silent tuning, FX loop and Stereo AUX Inputs, as well as Tuner and Headphone outputs.
Power is supplied by an innovative Analog Switching Amplifier, capable of producing a minimum of 260 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms with excellent headroom. In Europe and other parts of the world that run on 230-240v, the WTX-260 will put out even more - up to 300 Watts RMS! As previously mentioned, the WTX-260 automatically sets itself up for operation in any country. Just plug in the correct power cord and turn it on. This little genius of an amp will instantly make any adjustments necessary to run safely on local power. So go ahead and book that world tour from Australia to Zanzibar, we've got your back. The rear panel of the WTX-260 offers two 1/4" and one NL-4 (Speakon) outputs for speaker connection. Wile you're back there, notice the footswitch output. This is for our optional two-button switch to control Mute and Enhance Bypass functions.
