U.S. Music Corp. Acquires Eden Electronics

Chicago, Illinois, December 26, 2002 -U.S. Music Corporation, the recently renamed parent of Washburn International, has announced the acquisition of Eden Electronics. The new company will give U.S. Music and its SoundTech and Randall amplification divisions a strong hold in the bass amplification market. "Eden will complement our existing sound divisions and allow us to better utilize our facilities in Mundelein, Illinois,” remarked Rudy Schlacher, president.

Since their beginning as a custom builder for professional artists and manufacturers in 1976, Eden Electronics has earned a reputation for building high quality bass amplification equipment. "From day one, the key to our success has been the development of high-quality, innovative designs, coupled with the best possible quality control through in-house manufacturing of all key design elements," stated David Nordschow, founder of Eden Electronics. Nordschow, who will continue with Eden as director of research and development continued, “Our manufacturing approach and commitment to quality and unique designs will remain the same as part of the U.S. Music team."

At the top of the line, the World Tour amps will continue to define state of the art bass amplification. The David Eden pro line of products will also remain. David will now have the ability to implement the expansion and improvements that have long been developed in prototype stages.

U.S. Music will continue to manufacture and market Eden's Nemesis line of professional FET powered, self-contained bass combos and extension cabinets. "The Nemesis line is truly a revolution in bass equipment. Utilizing new composite materials, they have created cabinets that are not only environmentally friendly, but stronger, lighter, and better sounding than traditional plywood enclosures. The result is one of the most remarkable bass amplifier systems on the market," stated Larry English, V.P., marketing, U.S. Music Corporation.

The company will also continue with the CXC Solo Series: a unique group of combo amplifiers designed to answer the requests of bassists for gear that is smaller, more powerful, easier to move, and more cost effective. With a 400-watt power stages, these units feature Eden's first discreet FET preamp. The CXC amplifier section includes Eden's well-known EQ system, as well as a compressor defeat control, tuner out jack, effects loop, aux input, headphone out, and DI output with level control and ground lift.
