It’s All Good – A Review of Eden Gear

The following is a mild edit of an unsolicited post submitted to our online forum. The author is not an endorser, nor was he paid for this article. Our thanks to Michel Leclerc for allowing us to repost it here.

Michel Leclerc I've been an Eden user since 1998 - both for my own rig and for my sound company providing backline services to artists & bands coming to play here in Victoria BC. Canada. That includes most of the summer festivals on Vancouver Island for the last several years. For that reason, I needed bass amps with a great sound & reliability beyond compare and I found it in Eden products.

Most of my products were bought new but a few were bought used and none of them ever failed me. Of all my cabinets (1- D115, 1-D212XLT, 1- D410T, 2-D410XLT, 2- D210XLT, 1- D210T, 1- D210XST & few more of each that I rented from other sources from time to time) I have only had to replace a set of speakers in one of my D210XLT cabinets, which was bought used with one speaker that had been reconed by some unqualified person. Without realizing it, I had a cabinet that started life as a 4 ohm unit but now had one 8ohm speaker and a 4ohm replacement.

My D410T was also bought used. It’s an early Eden cab with the white/black /red plastic logo, road case style handles & early drivers with the silver tweeter horn, which I had to replace once. Otherwise it never needed any repair – and we're talking an early 90's cab here.

The same is true for my amps: they have never been in a shop except for my WT600 bought used with a faulty input jack (under seller's warranty of course). As for my latest amp (WT550), I bought it new when it was first available and since then it has been with me in very interesting situations - 3 times on the beach in Tofino with sand & sea spray, and one night being used by someone else all night with the eq clip light coming on every few notes while driving my new D210XST and both came out in perfect working condition (although I was not impressed with the bass player).
My Eden amps and cabinets are not pampered gear. A few have been dropped a few times with some physical scars to tell the story. I’ve never had a failure because of this abuse. This gear has been played in hundreds of shows by even more people, often driving these unit to the limits. Time & time again Eden has proved itself to be unbeatable at getting the sound people want night after night. Time and Time again, they have taken all the abuse bassists heap on backline gear and come out with no problems whatsoever.

“Bravo!” Eden for a job well done. I am a confirmed Edenite!
